Position Overview
The Wastewater Collection Operations Manager will oversee the operation and maintenance of the municipal wastewater collection system, ensuring efficient and compliant service delivery. This role is responsible for managing staff, optimizing processes, and coordinating with other departments to maintain the integrity of the wastewater collection infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and supervise the wastewater collection operations team, including training, performance management, and scheduling.
Develop and implement maintenance programs for wastewater mains, service connections, and manholes to ensure optimal performance.
Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Coordinate with other municipal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.
Prepare and manage budgets related to operations and maintenance of the wastewater collection system.
Conduct regular inspections and assessments of the wastewater collection infrastructure to ensure reliability and safety.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in utilities or wastewater operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of municipal wastewater collection systems and maintenance practices.
Possession of a Collections 4 Certificate is preferred, or ability to obtain in first year.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a diverse team.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Valid NC Drivers License
