179D Performance Engineer

Position Overview
The 179D Performance Engineer will play a critical role in supporting the implementation of energy efficiency measures in commercial buildings, leveraging tax incentives to promote sustainable practices. This position focuses on conducting building inspections, energy modeling, and collaborating with clients to guide them through certification processes and energy efficiency assessments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct building inspections to assess energy efficiency and compliance with ASHRAE standards.
  • Perform data analysis to identify opportunities for energy savings and improvement in building performance.
  • Collaborate with clients to provide guidance on tax incentives related to energy efficiency measures.
  • Utilize energy modeling and simulation software to predict energy performance outcomes.
  • Assist in the certification processes for energy efficiency programs and initiatives.
  • Support project teams through effective communication and problem-solving techniques.
  • Stay updated on construction design and processes to ensure alignment with energy efficiency goals.
  • Travel to various project sites as needed to conduct inspections and assessments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Experience in energy efficiency assessments and building inspections.
  • Familiarity with energy modeling and energy simulation software.
  • Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards and sustainable building practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated experience in construction design and processes.
  • Willingness to travel for project assessments and client meetings.
